ASCEND 2015 – Stand

ASCEND Women brought strong Christian leaders together to STAND – Strategically Take A New Direction – and taught women from all over that they have thousands of promises on which they can STAND found in God’s word. Lead by powerful speakers such as Lisa Osteen-Comes, and the beautiful gift of one of gospel’s most recognizable voices, CeCe Winans, women’s lives were saved, set free, and His name glorified. A panel of remarkable women hosted by Kathleen Cooke included, fighter against poverty spokesperson, Star Parker; author of Just Jesus, Lindsey Clifford; former prosecuting attorney, Maryann Ehmann; and consulting specialist, Dr. Sarah Sumner. An estimated 200 people came forward to be prayed over, and to pray over others. It truly was remarkable to see all these women STAND together!

Our Speakers

One of the world’s most recognizable voices in gospel music, CeCe Winans has sold millions of albums during her 25-year music career. The charismatic singer has won numerous awards including Grammy Awards, Dove Awards, gold and platinum albums, several #1 Gospel and Top Ten R&B hits.

Lisa Osteen-Comes is an associate pastor as Lakewood Church in Houston, TX, the largest church in the U.S. Known for her practical, easy-to-understand messages, she is no stranger to the extraordinary. She’s survived both a birth defect and a mail bomb explosion that made headlines around the world, and she has overcome many other challenges with hope and optimism. She speaks globally to thousands viewing Lakewood’s services regularly.

Our Panelists

Kathleen Cooke is an actress, businesswoman, writer, speaker, and founding partner (with husband, Phil Cooke) at Cooke Pictures and The Influence Lab in Burbank, CA. She edit the monthly Influence Women Newsletter, and her weekly blog, as well as is a column regular for WHOA Magazine. On the boards for Hollywood Connect, Hollywood Prayer Network, and the National Salvation Army, she travels regularly nationally and internationally speaking on faith, media, leadership, and culture.

Star Parker is the founder and president of The Center for Urban Renewal and Education, providing market-based solutions to fight poverty. Star spent seven years in the grip of welfare dependency. She now holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and International Business, and has received numerous awards and commendations. She founded UrbanCure with board members General John Ashcroft, General Ed Meese, and Dr. Ben Carson, which focuses on new ideas and policy for transitioning America’s dependency on welfare.

Lindsey Clifford is an author, writer, speaker, Bible leader, and the former radio talk-show host of Washington D.C.’s “The Hopeline.” Lindsey is a founding board member of ministry.com and the Dream Center Foundation and holds an honorary doctorate for outstanding philanthropic contribution form Victory University. Her passion is making the Bible lovable and livable.

Maryann Ehmann is a former prosecuting attorney, corporate manager, and cash flow consultant. Maryann “escaped” to her best career ever; home-schooling her children. When the “what’s next” question surfaced, Maryann hit insecurity originating from childhood abuse, advancing age, an outdated resume, and technological ignorance. She returned discovering it’s never too late, everything is redeemable, and teaches courageous professionals to do business and live the Magnificent Way.

Dr. Sarah Sumner is the founder of Right on Mission, Sarah tailor-makes mission statements for individuals, couples, families, and organizations, and her consulting specialty is teaching boards how to lead by policy, not politics. The only woman in the US to have served as dean and full professor of a conservative seminary, Dr. Sumner speak and travels internationally for conferences, businesses, the Pentagon, the White House, and on radio and TV shows.
